Little Gems (Dorset) Ltd began as a childminding business in a house in Gillingham run by Gemma Tobin alongside her two assistants. It became so successful that Gemma decided she needed a bigger premises within 6 months of opening!
Gemma is now working in joint management with Emma at Little Gems, and between the two of them their passion for Early Years is evident. The team at Little Gems is considered a small little family. These committed individuals hold many years experience in nurturing young children and delivering creative and stimulating learning experiences.
We provide a safe and nurturing learning environment, where we endeavour to meet the wellbeing needs of every child in our care.
Our curriculum ensures that children learn independently through trial and error and that the process of practicing and modelling skills is promoted throughout the nursery.
Our lovely learning environment, boasts large and airy rooms, there is plenty of space for your little one to explore at their own pace. We are lucky enough to have a train viewing platform and a giant walk in sand kitchen in our designated gardens.
Our vision and ethos at Little Gems is to develop the right mindset in our children. We believe in child led learning, which helps enable each child to develop the skills to become a confident and life-long learner who goes on to lead a successful, happy life.
